Weekend craft: step by step process of making a fabric flower from fabric scraps
Hello everyone
Greetings to you all on this beautiful day, it's a beautiful weekend out here and I will be sharing with you all with great pleasure from my sewing room the step by step process of making this beautiful fabric flower from fabric scraps.
It's weekend and as it is, I had a lot of chores to do around the house so I had to wake up early to finish up all I needed to do on time, fortunately enough for me, my husband is around to help me out which made the work easy and fast, we were able to do all we had to do and after resting for awhile,I decided do something beautiful for the weekend which is this fabric flower.
Looking at my left over fabric bag, it's getting fuller day by day and I just thought of a smart way to reduce them in such a way that it will be useful for me and people around me. Henceforth, I have decided to be making beautiful and creative design from these scraps so as to reduce the scraps.
For today, this is a beautiful fabric flower I made from two colors of fabric combined together to make an applique which can be useful on your cap, as a clip on your hair, as brounch on your fabric or whatever you so decide to use it for as far as fashion is concerned there is alot you can do with this.
Join me as i take you through the cutting and sewing process.
I measured a circle form one of the fabric with the diameter of 3"
It was then used to cut out same shape from another color of fabric
I went ahead to cut out 10 of the circle 5 from each color
Each color was folded in two and held with a pin just as seen below
I placed each color on the other at the center and i was held together with a pin
The same process was repeated on the other circle as well and were set aside
I used my hand needle and thread to run a long stitch on the edge from one end to the other and it was gathered together
I repeated the same process on all the pieces as they were all gathered together
I secured the ends together and finally used a silver embellishments to cover the center to give it a neat and beautiful outcome.
I hope you like the beautiful outcome of this fabric flower, you can as well try it out with the step by step process.
Join me in my next post as I will be sharing with you beautiful creativity and craft from my sewing room.
Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post, do enjoy your weekend.
