Making a pencil casing with zipper and elastic bookmark from left over piece of fabric
Hello everyone
Beautiful day to you all in this great community , it is my pleasure to share with you from my creativity the cutting and sewing process of this pencil casing with zipper and elastic bookmark for my neighbor's sister from left over fabric
This is one of the little diy craft I made for my neighbor's sister for her books. Mercy who is my neighbor's sister came visiting and last week she saw the pencil holder and bookmark I made and she told me she loves the beautiful outcome, well to her this looks very unique and very useful, mercy asked if I can make one for her for her books as well, then I promised to make this particular pencil casing with zipper and elastic bookmark so as to secure her pencils and also serves as a bookmark.
For the pencil casing, I measured 9x6" from a piece of fabric and it was cut out with interfacing ironed on it
This piece of fabric was placed on a small piece of lining and I cut out same shape
I placed a zipper on the main fabric and the lining was placed on the zipper on the wrong side and it was sewn together
I folded the fabric to the other side of the zipper and it was sewn together as well
The zipper was open up and I top stitched on both sides
The zipper was placed at the middle and I cut out elastic band of 10" which was placed inside the fabric and was sewn on both sides
The excess zipper was trimmed off and it was turned to the right side
This is the final and beautiful outcome of the pencil casing with zipper and elastic bookmark i made for my neighbor's sister and she loves it.
It was used as a bookmark on one of my books to see the beautiful and final outcome.
I hope you like the creative design of this bookmark and pencil casing, join me in my next post as I will be sharing with you beautiful creativity and craft from my sewing room.
Thanks so much for your time support comment and encouragement. Until my next post, do have a great time.
