Step by step process of making a simple top and short outfit made for a little boy
Hello everyone
A beautiful and lovely day to you all out there, I bring you greetings from my sewing room where I cut and sew beautiful outfit and other creativity for friends and family, it gives me great joy to see people around me wear and appreciate what I make, this in turn inspires me to do more and also improve in my sewing and craft. Today, I will be sharing with you with great pleasure the cutting and sewing process of this simple top and short I made for a little boy and I'm sure you will like the beautiful outcome
This is an outfit I started making yesterday and I was able to complete the short which I made with an elastic waist band and 2 sides pockets, actually this is my first time trying it out for a little boy though initially,I thought it would be a difficult task to make since I have not sewn it before but I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I was able to successfully complete it with a very neat finishing.
After the completion of the short, I proceeded to the making of the top by folding the fabric in two to cut out front part with the chest circumference measurements divide by 4 plus ease and seam allowance then I marked the full length measurements with hemming allowance. I cut out another piece fortge back which ws longer than the front part with 3" an it wa placed together as I slanted the to by 1.5" fo the shoulder slope
The back was used to overlap the front with 0.5" as I marked the shoulder, armhole, chest and waist measurements and it was cut out a well as the neckline of 2 by 2.5"
The armhole circumference was used to cut out the sleeves with the length of 5" and hemming allowance of 3"
The sleeves were set aside as I went ahead to cut out the placket and facing for the back and front neckline, all these were sewn together on the front and back where appropriate
The sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference on both sides with the side seam allowance and the hem was folded in with slit on both sides
It was thoroughly and neatly ironed, this is the final and beautiful outcome of the top and short I recently made for a little boy.
I hope you like the beautiful outcome of the top and short, join me in my next post as I will be sharing with you beautiful creativity and craft from my sewing room.
This so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post. Do hav a great and productive time.
