How I made two beautiful outfit for my friend's little girls for Sunday service

Hello everyone

This is one of the things I love to do most, making beautiful outfit for children and you know how little children can be very happy when they have a new and beautiful outfit made for them. I will be sharing with you on this lovely day the cutting and sewing process of this simple and stylish gathered gown outfit with a yoke made with plain fabric to give it an extra touch of creativity for my friend's little girls for Sunday service.

Initially, this fabric was meant to be made for my friend Grace and her little boy which I did fo the little boy and it was so nice, the remaining fabric was kept for my friend to decide on the particular outfit she would want me to make with it but I was surprised when she reached out to me that she would want to have me use the remaining fabric to make simple outfits for her two daughters, looking at the remaining fabric, I thought of a way to go about it so that it would be enough and this is it.

Join me in te cutting and sewing process below.

The fabric comes in two patterns, a small and bigger design on the top and bottom, so i had to interchange it to make it stylish and gives it a beautiful design.

The upper bodice was drafted on a brown paper with the yoke and it was cut out using the upper bodice measurements after which it was transferred to the main fabric.

The remaining part of the upper bodice was cut on the main fabric with lining which was used to turn it inside out for neat finishing.

The yoke was sewn to the remaining part of the upper bodice to make the half length and it was set aside

Since the part of the fabric with the bigger pattern on it was used for the upper bodice, i decided to use the other side with the smaller pattern for the gathered flare. I measured and cut out 3 times the waist circumference measurements with zipper and seam allowance at the back, this was gathered together and set aside

The remaining part of the fabric with the smaller pattern was used to cut out the sleeves with excess to be pleated together on a band at the hem.

The sleeves were pleated on a plain fabric band using the round sleeves measurements.

This same pocess was done on the other daughter's outfit and this is the outcome

The gathered pleat of the lower part of the gown was sewn to the upper bodice with the zipper at the zipper allowance at the back, a matching color lining was pleated on the waist line for fullness and the hem was folded in as well.

This is the final look of both outfits I made for my friend's little girls from the fabric which was initially meant to be sewn for her. The children will be glad to wear this to church on Sunday.

I hope you like how the pattern on the fabric was mixed and interchanged on both outfits to make a beautiful design.

Thanks so much for your time support comment and encouragement. Until my next post, do have a great time and be safe.
