CAN WE DISCUSS ABOUT GOD'S LOVE 😘

Hey pals, I kinda noticed that literally everyone are doing quite impressive in reading through the Bible, but taking notes of some particular verses isn't done by a lot of people.

So we're here today to discuss about a very popular chapter of the scripture.

“In John 10, Jesus said, ‘My sheep hear My voice, and the voice of strangers they will not follow."

But if we look at the context, let's start from verse one so we can see what God is actually promising us.

Now, who is speaking here in John 10? In what capacity is He speaking? What is the identifying role He is assuming in this passage?

You see, when Jesus speaks to His disciples, He often speaks as a pastor. When He ministered in Samaria, He spoke as an evangelist. In Matthew 16 at Caesarea Philippi, He spoke as a prophet. The Bible also refers to Him as the Apostle of our faith when speaking about His death and resurrection. So, there are different situations in which He assumes different offices.

In this passage, which office is He assuming? He is speaking as a pastor because He identifies Himself as the Good Shepherd.

So, when He says, ‘My sheep hear My voice, and the voice of strangers they will not follow,’ what is He saying? How do sheep hear the voice of their Shepherd?

Through the voice of their pastor.

What Jesus is talking about here is not primarily hearing an audible voice. Rather, it is hearing His voice through teaching and spiritual leadership.

Do you understand that?

So, what He is promising here is not merely a voice; what He is promising is teaching, guidance, and leadership. The sheep recognize the Shepherd's voice as it comes through His instruction, and they refuse to follow the teaching of strangers.
