SEER'S DAIRY. COM
Hey pals... I warmly welcome 🤗 you all to the second half of the year 2026, and our main focus today is actually about when God Hides Things From the Seer. Please sit back let's have a real gist and good time together.
There is an experience inside prophetic ministry that almost nobody talks about. Not because it is rare. Because it is too vulnerable to admit.
The seer who cannot see.
Before you assume this is a faith problem or a sin problem or a consecration problem, sit with two moments in Scripture that will reframe how you interpret what you are currently carrying.
2 Kings 4:27. A grieving mother comes running to Elisha. She grabs his feet. She is in obvious distress. Her son has just died. Gehazi tries to push her away but Elisha stops him and says something that should arrest every seer prophet reading this. Let her alone, for her soul is vexed within her, and the Lord hath hid it from me and hath not told me.
This is Elisha. The man whose prophetic sight was so precise that the king of Syria thought there was a spy inside his own camp. The man who saw the chariots of fire surrounding the mountain when nobody else could. And yet in this moment a grieving woman stands directly in front of him and God had hidden from him the reason for her pain.
He did not pretend. He did not manufacture something. He did not reach for a generic prophetic word to cover his blindness. He simply said what was true. The Lord hid it from me.
That admission from one of the greatest seers in Scripture should do something to the performance pressure you have been carrying. Because if God hid things from Elisha, the question is no longer whether God hides things from seers. The question is why.
Isaiah 29:10. For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep and hath closed your eyes. The prophets and your rulers, the seers, hath he covered.
Not the enemy. Not unconfessed sin. Not a lack of fasting or prayer or consecration. God covered the seers. The word covered in Hebrew is kasah. It means to conceal, to hide, to overwhelm intentionally. This was not an accident. This was a sovereign act initiated from heaven.
Job could not locate God either. Job 23:8 to 9. Behold I go forward but he is not there, and backward but I cannot perceive him. On the left hand where he doth work but I cannot behold him. He hide himself on the right hand that I cannot see him.
This is a man God himself bragged about in heaven. A man God called blameless and upright. Yet Job's spiritual perception had gone completely dark. He looked forward, backward, left, right and found nothing. No vision. No voice. No sense of divine presence. And God never once told Job that his inability to perceive Him was a sign of spiritual failure.
Paul understood this too. 1 Corinthians 13:9. We know in part and we prophesy in part. Not in whole. In part. The seer's vision was never designed to be a complete and uninterrupted pipeline. It was always partial, always selective, always subject to what God chooses to reveal and what God chooses to conceal.
The moment a seer begins to believe their gift gives them total access to the mind of God, they have moved from the prophetic into presumption. God reserves the right to hide things even from the people He has specifically gifted to see.
The pattern does not lie. Look at every major seer prophet in Scripture and you will find a desert moment. A cave season. A period of suspended vision before the greater assignment opened. Elijah ran into the wilderness and collapsed under a juniper tree.
He had just called down fire from heaven and now he could not hear God clearly enough to know his own life was not in danger. God did not rebuke him for it. God fed him and told him the journey was too great for him. Ezekiel sat by the river Chebar for seven days in silence before the visions came. Seven days of nothing before one of the most dramatic prophetic openings in the entire Old Testament.
The desert was not the interruption of their assignment. The desert was the preparation for the next dimension of it.
You have been showing up in rooms as the seer. You have been flowing accurately for other people. You have been helping people find clarity for their lives and their assignments.
And quietly, privately, you have been wondering why your own vision feels covered. Why the dreams have gone quiet. Why the flow that used to come easily now feels like you are pulling from an empty well. Why God feels close in worship but distant when you go looking for the clarity you used to carry.
And you have told nobody. Because how do you tell people that the seer cannot see. How do you admit that the gift that defines your assignment feels completely offline without people questioning your credibility or your consecration.
So you keep showing up. You keep flowing publicly. And privately you carry a weight that has no language and no community because nobody prepares the emerging seer prophet for this season.
But Elisha named it out loud in front of everyone. The Lord hid it from me. There was no shame in it. No scrambling to recover his reputation. No manufactured word to fill the silence. Just the honest acknowledgment that God had chosen in that moment not to show him what he would normally see.
Here is what the covering is actually doing.
Your gift was never meant to be your identity. God knows the subtle moment when a seer begins to derive their sense of closeness to Him from the activity of their gift rather than from His person. When seeing becomes the evidence that God is pleased with you.
When the flow becomes the thing that makes you feel chosen. When the absence of vision feels like the absence of God.
But He will not build something eternal on top of a gift that has quietly become a functional savior.
So He covers the eyes. Not to punish you. Not because you have failed. But because He is separating you from your gift long enough for you to discover that your relationship with Him does not depend on what you can see.
Because if you can only trust God when you are seeing clearly, you are not trusting God. You are trusting your gift.
There is a version of you on the other side of this covering that carries an authority the current version of you cannot access. A seer who has learned to trust God in the dark. A seer who has sat with closed eyes and still called Him faithful. A seer who no longer needs the vision to validate the relationship.
That seer God can trust with nations.
The covering is not the end of your sight, but the absolute beginning of your depth.
