Learning Through Songs

Hoy fue un día de estudiar para una exposición de deporte, esta vez mi hijo eligió exponer sobre el futbol y descubrí una manera muy genial de hacerlo aprender rápidamente las cosas sin ser estresante e incluso fue bastante divertido. Cuando era pequeña y me tocaba aprenderme algún examen o exposición mi mama siempre me decía que intentara cantando, de esta manera seria mas facil memorizar todo, me funciono varias veces y hoy por alguna razón mi hijo le estaba costando aprender lo que debía decir. EL entiende lo que es el futbol y como se juega pero aun le cuesta expresarse correctamente a la hora de hablar, a veces se enreda tanto en una sola oración que llega a ser un poco desesperante.

Today was a day of studying for a sports presentation. This time, my son chose to do a presentation on soccer, and I discovered a really great way to help him learn things quickly without it being stressful—it was even pretty fun. When I was little and had to study for a test or presentation, my mom always told me to try singing it—that way, it would be easier to memorize everything. It worked for me several times, and today, for some reason, my son was having a hard time learning what he was supposed to say. He understands what soccer is and how it’s played, but he still has a hard time expressing himself correctly when he speaks; sometimes he gets so tangled up in a single sentence that it gets a little frustrating.

Y se me ocurrió volver a traer ese consejo de mi mamá pero con una herramienta que tenemos al alcance de la mano hoy en día, utilice Gemini para poder crear una canción que dijera exactamente las cosas que necesitaba aprenderse mi hijo en una canción de estilo rap bastante movida jaja. Funciono bastante bien, después de escucharla unas 4 veces mi hijo logro aprenderse la mayoría de la exposición y hasta yo termine cantando la canción jaja.

And it occurred to me to revisit that advice from my mom, but using a tool we have right at our fingertips these days. I used Gemini to create a song that said exactly what my son needed to learn—set to a pretty upbeat rap beat, haha. It worked pretty well; after listening to it about four times, my son managed to learn most of the lyrics, and even I ended up singing along, haha.

Mientras se la aprendía le hice una pequeña lamina para que sea su material de apoyo el día de mañana, todo lo hicimos muy apurados porque la maestra aviso de esta exposición hoy, ya me han hecho eso varias veces y es bastante frustrante que pretendan que de un día para otro se aprendan exposiciones o exámenes cuando eso requiere un tiempo de preparación para que todo salga bien, pero bueno, realmente me ayudo bastante la IA hoy pudimos adelantar bastante teniendo en cuenta el poco tiempo que teníamos.

While he was learning it, I made him a little handout to use as a reference later on. We did everything in a big rush because the teacher announced this presentation today. This has happened to me several times before, and it’s pretty frustrating when they expect us to prepare for presentations or exams overnight when it actually takes time to get everything right, But anyway, AI really helped me a lot today—we were able to get a lot done considering how little time we had.
