Color dorado y ligeramente turbio. Excelente equilibrio en amargor, maltas y dulzor. También se aprecian matices florales y especiados.
En resumen una excelente interpretación del estilo.
For this week's #beersaturday, I'm showing you a traditional-style beer brewed by the Aragonese brewery Cierzo Brewing Co.
It's a shame that the brewpub they had in the heart of Zaragoza's capital has closed. The craft beer world is very complicated, and we can see this not only in the closure of bars but also in beer brands. Fortunately, in the case of Cierzo, we're only talking about the closure of the brewpub. The brewery is still operating at full capacity.
Cierzo is characterized by its versatility in brewing styles. They focus on IPAs, but also make stouts, sour beers, and even try their hand at classics. As is the case with this Festbier I'm showing you. It's a traditional Bavarian beer style, primarily associated with the Oktoberfest in Munich. It's not usually very alcoholic, and its flavor is malty, with cereal notes, and very easy to drink due to the smoothness of the German hops. On this occasion, the guys at Cierzo pay homage to the legendary song "99 lutballons" by the band Nena in the 1980s with this can.
30 IBU of bitterness, with the classic Hallertau Mittelfrüh and Perle hops very present. Very easy to drink. Golden and slightly cloudy in color. Excellent balance of bitterness, maltiness, and sweetness. Floral and spicy nuances are also noticeable.
In short, an excellent interpretation of the style.
