It was a guided meditation, Anna's first attendance. The guide took them through, using his voice, which they were to concentrate on.

"Feel your breath fill your body through each inhale," he guided. "And feel your muscles relax with each exhale," he added.

Anna tried to concentrate, with all wholeness, but her thoughts wandered, her breath irregular. "Relaxation isn't your thing," her mind nagging. She tried to brush it off. "Concentrate," she urged herself.

The guide said something, "Visualize that there's a door before you, a door to somewhere. Walk towards that door. Feel the lock, all designed for you. Now open the door, it's the door to your higher self."

Anna was now frustrated. She couldn't breath regularly, let alone visualize the door. She opened her eyes, out of impatience.

Looking at the others, in their deep state of meditation and visualization, she couldn't help but feel out of place. She sat there, eyes open, envying the rest, until the guide called them back to the present.
