"No, no, no, not again—at least not now!" She screamed at her scooter.

“You know damn well that I have an interview in 30, and now you want to start acting up? C’mon now, you can’t be that unfair to me. At least not when I need you the most,” she grunted, clenching her jaw.

She got off the scooter and stared at it, hands akimbo, heavy puffs of her breath steaming into the chilly morning. Without second thoughts, she kicked at the tiny wheels.

“Ouch! What the…?” she trailed off, catching her foot in agony.

“Haven’t you had enough already? Can’t you give it up and help me nail this interview?” she asked her scooter.“You cursed bicycle of doom!” she spat, pacing in circles. “Of all mornings, you chose today to betray me?! Thirty minutes to the most important interview of my life, and you sit here sulking like a spoiled child. I should have just bought a bicycle instead of you, piece...!”

The scooter creaked, dramatically falling to its side as if in answer to her frustrations. She stomped her feet in agitation.
