She massaged her temple again. The migraine was back, sharper than the last episode. It was her what... 100th tryout? She couldn't keep count no more. Every time, the fail was a huge setback. Not just on her body but on her mind. She bled inside. How could she ever face success if she was bound to fail?

She wiped her tears away, her mother's words, echoing like thunder: "if you are soft, you're bound to fail." Success does not come easy, she thought. Her desk was a mess, papers scattered everywhere. Not an ounce of strength left in her to pick them up. All she could think was what a big loser she was. I'm a failure, her mind reminded her. She had lost all hope, of ever being successful let alone rich.

She let out a deep helpless sigh and stared into space. Thoughts clouded her, heavy and dark. What's the point of going on? she wondered, as she slumped her heavy-laden body on the messy desk.
