Guilt-Free Frying: Discovering the Benefits of Air Frying
We had been considering buying an air fryer for ages but never felt strongly enough to take the plunge—until a few days ago when I learned I had high cholesterol. Even though it’s a bit pricey, we decided to get one as soon as possible so that we wouldn’t have any second thoughts.
While taking a break after a more than one-hour walk around the neighborhood, I opened my favorite app, TikTok, to pass the time and check the price of an air fryer. I remembered that they usually cost two to three thousand pesos each, which made them seem expensive. However, when a live seller mentioned that a reputable brand was available for just around a thousand pesos, I decided to order it immediately. The seller promised that once ordered, it would be delivered either the same day or, at the latest, the next business day.
True to its promise, we received the air fryer on the very same business day. We used it to air-fry the marinated salmon I had prepared in the morning, and the taste was nearly identical to that of deep-fried salmon. The texture was spot on as well—I couldn’t tell the difference.
I tried to take a photo of the machine but can't take any decent shots :)
According to an article that I have read By most measures, air frying is healthier than frying in oil. It cuts calories by 70% to 80% and has a lot less fat. Sounds like a great promise as for someone that loves fried food getting less fat and cholesterol is something that we all want to have.
Right now, I am searching for recipes that will work best for this new baby since most of the foods that I am used to preparing consume a lot of oil or even meat. I saw some chicken breast recipes and I am planning to imitate them by weekend. So far, I have some fries and fish that's for prepping.
How about you, do you know a recipe for airfyer that you can share?
