Our Second Visit to Kidzoona: Overcoming Challenges and Celebrating Wins
A year ago, we first went to Kidzoona in SM San Pablo and I believe that we had enjoyed the experience. However, due to time and budget constraints, we could not revisit it and have Dyn play to the location.
After we got her assessment from her developmental pediatrician April and I agreed that we need to make her be exposed to a lot of people and one way to do it is have her play outside and not stay indoors while we are still waiting for her class this coming 1st of July.
Kidzoona's SM San Pablo is just 45 minutes away from us. We prepared around seven in the morning after we ate breakfast and left our home around nine. Though I am still groggy because my shift ended at around five in the morning we decided to continue with the plan.
Around 9:45 AM we reached SM San Pablo, the mall's still closed and we just roam around the area in the meantime. Dyn-dyn's not running thanks to the hack that we learned from the Facebook Group that we joined wherein they share that for kids that are too energetic we can use bags with some weights for them to channel their energy and at the very least regulate their actions.
The early bird gets the chance to enjoy the venue.
We were first to arrive in the place. While some kids are lining up we are already enjoying the venue. We first tried the slide.
In our first attempts Dyn-dyn's too afraid on letting go to the handle. When sliding she's too slow and feels like she is just pushing her butt off just to go down. We have tried it several times as there's no one in line until she got used to it.

When she left the trampoline area, we saw a big inflatable slide and decided to try it. We first show Dyn-dyn how to climb the slide as she's holding onto April and standing, but slowly she learns that she needs to use her whole body to crawl up.

After multiple slides. I got a bruise in my elbow as when we used the slide my elbow scratched the slide hahha. April mentioned that it does make sense why the signage says either we hug ourselves during slides or just raise our hands to avoid injuries. To which I didn't do btw.

We also joined her with playing and teach her how to use the stuff around.

At this point we are just roaming around playing and letting Dyn be familiar with people. There's a ton of kids already in the place and at some point, she's interacting already to some of the kiddo's in the area.

We definitely saw a huge improvement on her over the past month after the diagnosis. With the help of the activities that we do in a daily basis we are seeing everything in a more positive note. What we look forward to is for her conversational skills to improve as she's not that conversant hopefully the webinar that we will be joining tomorrow will be of help so that we can learn more about the tips and tricks that we can do to improve her speech. This will be facilitated by a licensed speech therapist and after the session we can somehow ask her help with the diagnosis as we still need to have the speech therapy session to be completed for Dyn and while waiting for a slot to open we should do what we can in the meantime.
Also as we checked Dyn, we noticed multiple kids experiencing the same stuff that Dyn-dyn is having. To which we ask ourselves, what is really a normal kid?
Anyhow, here's a video of what we did earlier in Kidzoona.
