Sunday morning run
I got out of bed early as today was expected to be pretty warm here. I ended up later on the road than expected as I wanted to watch back Usyk vs Verhoeven before I went outside and Verhoeven clearly did better than expected.
Even at 07:00 it was already pressing warm due to the high humidity. While I did bring 1 soft flask with me, I would had been a little smarter if I had also had taken some breakfast and had drank something else other than a coffee - but I will do that next time!
I decided to go for a 15km run at mid to high zone 3 pace. Which brings my weekly activity to:
Monday 8km 4:05/km (tempo run)
Tuesday 50km 5:25/km (ultra)
Thursday 8km 4:49/km (injury check run)
Sunday 15km 4:29/km (zone 3)
Total 81 km which felt great after a longer period of less activity.
My run today was in a green polderlandscape that is part of Natura 2000 which is a program within the EU to have more nature preserved especially close to larger cities. Which is always a pleasure to run through.
We will receive the schedule from the oncologist this coming Wednesday; as we expect now, that will be chemo every other week until at least mid-September, followed by surgery in early November.
While my personal running ambitions are now of no importance - I do plan to stay as active as possible to remain fit , have distractions and also some time to clear my mind.
