Sunday hill work!
Another beautiful Sunday morning filled with sun. I decided to do 80 min of hill repeats and finish the session with 10 min cooling down and use a sequence that alternated between my power and heartbeat zones.
Session:
- medium climb (13% running)
- hard climb (>25% running)
- hard climb (>25% powerhike)
Descending: running, trying to speed up as much as possible going down, even on the steep hill!
(Repeat)
The run felt pretty good. I decided to play it safe by shorten the time on the hill to 80 min and used 10 min to cool down - rather than doing a 120 min hill session. The reason for this is that with 80 min of quality work I get the boost I wanted and will be able to do another hard training on Tuesday, whereas doing a 120 min hard session will only have little additional value but might need much more recovery. I hope to increase my hard training sessions from 2 to 3 in a week - so now experimenting with how to manage recovery times to get optimal results!
Todays run ended with 900m of climbing abd a big smile on my face as it was just wonderful to go outside.
Saterday:
Yesterday I had the honor to run - as a coach - along side my girls during a kids run. This was so awesome and honestly my oldest suprised with with her all out sorint last 200m. Very cool event and proud dad here!
Saterday evening I did an easy recovery run which was good to clear the mind a bit!
Happy running!
