Exploring the route for my daughters traffic exam
I was really looking for some alone time to reset myself, but with the current load that is just not suitable today. Therefore I picked a few chores that at least allowed me to get some time on the feet.
My daughter has her traffic exam next month. As the Netherlands is actually famous for how common the bicycle is used - every kid in the Netherlands will have to do a traffic exam (hosted by primairy school), cycling a few kilometers and show that you understand the traffic rules. The kids have to know 2 different routes, so today I took my daughter to explore the first route for the first time.
In the end the route turned out to be just a bit over 10k, for me a good easy distance but unfortunately not a distance my wife could cycle right now (which is quite confronting to her).
While my daughter is just awesome and caring I became a little frustrated by her asking me every 2 min if the speed was not too fast for me running alongside. When I told her to just stop doing that as I could easily run a marathon way faster than the pace we were going - she did what she had to do haha she speeded to the point where I had to ask her to slow down a little (fair play!)
In the end, not only did we explore the route, but we also had a fun time together!
