No Goals, No Growth.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Over the years one thing I have come to realise is that in life, one thing that helps us to know the next step or next move to make is setting goals and working towards achieving them. I feel like the reason many people are confused and don't know what to do next after their current project is because they don't have a goal. Having goals and working towards making them a reality is how we stay busy; it is also what guides us as well as gives our lives direction.

The moment you realise you are confused or do not know the next move to make, it is most of the time a result of the lack of a goal one is working on. Having goals to work on keeps you busy and gives you direction because you know that after this, the next move to make to help you achieve your goals is that, and after this, you proceed to start working on that. Personal growth does not revolve around age at all; personal growth has to do with something that helps you develop as an individual and as an adult, something that turns your story around.

One of the things that brings about personal growth is learning a skill; having one or even two skills is one thing. I am yet to come across anyone who regrets having one or two skills; rather, they are always grateful for the skills and wish they were able to learn even more. There are some people with skills whose goal is to better themselves in that line. The truth is that for any line you belong to or any skill you possess, you are not the only one who possesses that skill, and the only way you are able to stand out is by bettering yourself in that line or skill, which is why getting into a line or skill and then relaxing because you now know just the basics will keep you operating at an average level for a very long time until you get to work.

Some people learnt a skill because they wanted to. I heard a cousin of mine say, "They said I should learn tailoring, and I did." He learnt that about 2 years ago and to date has not made any plans to better or improve his skills; he does not even take it seriously, and he has been in the line for 2 years, and people who he learnt the skill from before him are today doing way better than him. It does not always end at just learning the skill; you must try to improve, you must try to be the best, and with that you see that you stay really busy day in, day out, and in the end you will see results.

One skill I am currently working on is how to become a full-time mobile and web designer. I have been on this quite longer than I expected, and it is because my offline engagements are really killing me, and I have to keep putting it on pause in order to meet with offline engagements, but I hope to get back to it and see it through as soon as I can.
