Phuket’s Cinematic Isles

One of the most striking and beautiful features you can see almost anywhere around Phuket and southern Thailand are the islands and karsts rising from the sea, creating a spectacular view that makes this place a paradise for movie directors and photographers.

To give you an idea of just how big this area with all these islands really is, there is a number of them (more than a hundred!) in the bay surrounding Phuket and Phang Nga.

Each of them has its own unique landscape, lagoons, and towering rock formations.

Speaking of rock formations, these are the most notable sights in this part of Thailand, along with the islands. I remember spending hours upon hours taking photos of these majestic limestone monoliths rising from the ocean. I think I have captured some of the most beautiful shots of them here.

As you can see, I have included both color and black and white photos in this collection. Each has its own charm, and while the first ones represent the beauty of nature in all its glory, the second ones show the power of contrast and lines. Which type of photos do you like more?
