The Ripple

I noticed it while crossing the market.

A small commotion near the fruit stand caught my attention.

A young boy had dropped a small bundle of money, fumbling as it slipped out of his hands. The crowd was walking past, some laughing, some ignoring it.

I didn’t think. I bent down and picked it up.
The boy’s eyes went wide when I handed it back.

“Thank you, sir!” he said, voice trembling a little.
I smiled and nodded, brushing off the attention.
Then I walked on.

But a few steps later, something made me stop.

I glanced back. The boy was being scolded by an older man — his father, probably. The money in his hand was gone again, and he looked scared.

I had a choice. Keep walking and pretend I hadn’t noticed? Or go back and make sure he was safe?

I turned.

By the time I reached them, the father was yelling, and the boy’s eyes were wide with fear.

I stepped in gently, handing the money back to the boy myself and saying a few words. The father grumbled but left.
The boy looked at me, unsure, then held the bundle tightly.

As I walked away, I realized something:
It’s not just about doing the right thing.

Sometimes, how you act — even in small moments — changes how someone else sees the world.

And that ripple… can reach farther than you think.

Welcome, friend. Life doesn't hand us a manual; it hands us stories. I take those everyday moments and shape them into short stories that linger long after the reading ends.I gather those moments—the ordinary encounters,My work is to uncover that hidden wisdom and offer it in narratives that feel like stillness in a rushing world, and a little more understanding of this thing called being human. Pull up a chair. The lesson is waiting.
