A beautiful morning to all music lovers out there. It's a bright and sunny Tuesday, a perfect time to share three tunes. The #threetunetuesday is an initiative by @ablaze. An initiative that brings music lovers together. I always look forward to Tuesdays because there are always new songs to learn about from every part of the world.
So, without further ado, let me introduce my spotlight artist of this week. He goes by the name "Akon". I remember listening to his songs when I was younger. Akon is an American -senegalese (I didn't know that a thing like this existed) who specialises in hip hop, R&B, pop music and a lot more. To the songs for today.
Don't Matter
"Nobody wants to see us together, but it don't matter no, cause I got you 🎶🎶"
I loved everything about this song. The music video, the lyrics, the motivation and all. This is one of the songs that made my childhood blissful.
This song is dedicated to the people who are hiding their lovers because everyone thinks that they're not fit for each other. But as long as you've got each other, that's what matters the most.
I like the way he switched up the beats towards the end of the song.
Belly Dancer(Bananza):
First off, I have to say that I respect people who can belly dance. I tried learning a few years back but I gave up.
Belly dancer is one of the songs that used to set the mood for parties back in the days. Once this jam is played, everyone gets moving.
This is a song about him basically trying to woo a girl. This song's video is a clear indication that times have changed.
Sorry, Blame it on me
This was a very emotional piece. A song for people who find it hard to apologise for their mistakes. If you know a person like this, you should refer this song to them:-)
He starts the song with the words
"As life goes on, I'm starting to learn more and more about responsibilities". He goes ahead to apologise for so many things. A person who takes time to listen to the lyrics of this song would definitely have a change of perspective towards life.
Akon is really a great artist but he's retired. No more producing great jams instead, he's doing a noble deed. He's working painstakingly to bring electricity to the whole of Africa. Once a legend, always a legend.
I hope you liked the tunes today. Thank you so much for stopping by.
With love, wongi ✨
