But the opposite is the case. Crochet crafting is something that takes time, precision, creativity and diligence. Something of that sort cannot be mass produced overnight, even when a few more professional hands are involved.

I recently launched an original crochet shirt design and I absolutely love how that crochet shirt turned out. The shirt is made up of many granny squares joined together to create the masterpiece. The task isn't in coupling the granny squares but in making the granny squares themselves.

I got an order to recreate the shirt in different colours and a larger size and one thing I can say is that I haven't made so many granny squares before. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the process of intricately creating diamonds but while making this order, I concluded that upscaling may be a shimmering idea but I may not be able to cope flawlessly as a one-man business if I got as many orders as I would like. A hard truth.

In essence, I've come to accept the reality that I'm currently a one man business and making as many crochet pieces as I would like, even with my current level of dexterity and speed might not be feasible. Also, hiring and paying others isn't such a bright idea because the business is still taking baby steps. So what to do?

Some people usually suggest getting extra hands and it's a good idea but there is also the problem of paying them for their services. I may not know very much about employing people, especially artists but one thing is certain, many professional artists do not give out their time or services for free.

There's also the option of outsourcing to fellow crochet artists. But aside from the fact that this feels like fraud to me, one can never be too sure of the level of details another person would put into a job that isn't directly linked to them or their brand. Yes, there are very meticulous and diligent crochet artists out there but finding them is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Might I add that some ‘needles’ come with a huge price tag.

For the time being, I have just been working with as many orders as I can handle per time even when I feel deep down that I can be doing much more, if I could only find a way around this temporary challenge. But here's a question to the community; how would you advise me to go about creating as many crochet masterpieces as possible without compromising the originality and craftsmanship of my works?
