Satellite Internet

I guess satellite internet is prohibitively expensive for most. In Australia we had a national broadband network the government built. It was going to bring fibre internet to pretty much everyone, then "fixed wireless" to some groups, and finally satellite for those who just couldn't get anything else

A conservative government got voted in around when it started, and they cheaped out and fucked a lot of it up, but one good thing was that they installed satellite internet for free for a whole bunch of rural people who otherwise had no internet
Satellite internet is pretty annoying, too much latency for gaming, and you really feel it even when browsing, Google searches taking over a second to load etc. Feels like wading through mud. But at least it's internet.
