Ubong and Ekemini visited the beautiful waterfront in Oron one bright Saturday morning. They had heard about a local canoe race and were eager to watch the competition. As they stood by the shore, the excitement grew. The paddlers warmed up while spectators cheered from every corner.

An elderly fisherman noticed their curiosity and invited them into his canoe. "Today," he smiled, "you will learn that success comes to those who row faster with purpose, not just with strength."

The race began with a loud whistle. Every team paddled with determination. Some started quickly but became tired halfway through. Others worked together, keeping a steady rhythm. Ubong watched closely and realised that teamwork mattered more than individual effort.

After the race, the fisherman challenged Ubong and Ekemini to paddle across a short distance. At first, they rowed at different speeds, causing the canoe to wobble. The fisherman laughed gently and advised, "Listen to each other. Row faster together, not against one another."

They followed his instruction, matching their strokes. Soon the canoe glided smoothly across the calm water. They reached the other side much quicker than before. Ekemini smiled with pride, while Ubong appreciated the lesson hidden in the simple exercise.

As they returned to the shore, the fisherman reminded them that life is like rowing a canoe. Dreams are achieved through discipline, cooperation, and persistence. Moving faster without unity only wastes energy.

From that day in Oron, Ubong and Ekemini remembered that real progress is not about rushing ahead alone. It is about working together with focus, encouraging one another, and never giving up until the destination is reached. That unforgettable experience inspired them to face every future challenge with confidence and teamwork.
