Everyone in Ikot Ekpene admired Daniel for his storytelling. Every Friday evening, children gathered under the old mango tree to hear his exciting tales of brave warriors, hidden treasures, and magical kingdoms.

One day, Daniel began a new story about a fearless hunter named Okon. According to the story, Okon crossed a deep river because he could not swim, so he carefully built a strong wooden bridge. The listeners nodded in admiration.

A few minutes later, Daniel said the bridge had never existed and that Okon had simply swum across the same river with ease. The children looked at one another in confusion.

"But you said he couldn't swim," little Esther interrupted.

Daniel smiled nervously and continued the story without explaining the contradiction. Soon, he claimed that the treasure had been buried for one hundred years, yet the map leading to it had been drawn only a week earlier by the king who supposedly died decades ago.

This time, everyone burst into laughter.

Grandfather Edet, who had been listening quietly, called Daniel aside. "A good story must make sense from beginning to end," he said. "When important details contradict each other without explanation, readers notice. That is called a plot hole."

Daniel thanked the old man for the advice. He rewrote the story, making sure every event matched the earlier details. The next Friday, he told the improved version. The children listened with excitement, asked thoughtful questions, and applauded loudly at the end.
