Cafe Onthel: Classic, History, Taste

How are you all? I hope you are all well and always happy. Meet me again, nice to meet you all. I'm back with my story about visiting a beautiful cafe with delicious drinks.

This time, I visited a rather unique cafe, Cafe Onthel. The cafe, which has an old-school theme, is very unique and interesting. I came here with my family. Even though it was quite a long way to go, my mother really wanted to come here, so we headed there.

This cafe is unique and beautiful, very comfortable. They have a spacious cafe, spacious parking, lots of tables and chairs. You can sit outdoors or indoors, choose whichever you think is most comfortable. Because this time I came with my family, they wanted to sit outdoors, so that's how it was. Even though it's outdoors and the weather is very hot, sitting here isn't too hot, because there are fans and also a roof that covers from the hot sun.

There are several menu options here, ranging from snacks, main courses, desserts, and even a selection of drinks. Of course, they offer a variety of rice and chicken options with various chili flavors, such as Nasi Ayam goreng Cabe ijo, Nasi Ayam goreng sambal pecak, and others. They also offer a wide selection of drinks, including coffee, chocolate, matcha, strawberry, tea, and more.

They also have a new menu, namely ice cream. There are ice cream cones and ice cream cups. There is also an option of ice cream with added bread.

Nasi Ayam Goreng Sambal Pecak

For the main course, I ordered Nasi Ayam Goreng Sambal Pecak (fried chicken rice with pecak chili sauce). It consisted of fried chicken breast, rice, tofu, tempeh, fried eggplant, tomatoes, cucumbers, and sambal pecak.

Sambal pecak is a traditional Indonesian (especially Betawi and Javanese) chili sauce dish with a spicy, savory, and refreshing flavor. Its main characteristics lie in the sprinkling of hot water or hot cooking oil and the generous amount of sliced shallots, giving the sauce a distinctive kick.

And the Pecak Sambal Fried Chicken Rice from this cafe is very delicious, tender chicken fried very well. Tofu, tempeh and eggplant are also fried well, the rice is fluffy. And most importantly when eating this is the taste of the sambal, and it is very delicious, dominated by spicy and savory flavors. Very delicious.

Bakwan Jagung

Besides rice, I also ordered a snack. The snack I ordered was Bakwan Jagung (corn fritters). This dish, made from flour, vegetables, and corn, is one of my favorite snacks. It's delicious, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. It's even more delicious with the sauce.

Es Cemil

Next, I also ordered ice cream. They have several ice cream variants, and I ordered the Es Cemil. The Es Cemil here is ice cream with pieces of bread, topped with chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and choco chips. It's very delicious. The ice cream comes in three flavors: chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. Sweet and refreshing, perfect for a day like this.
