Selectins in acute inflammation
Hello everyone, how are you all? The value of hive is just low only not increased yet.i would like to tell about selectins which plays major role in acute inflammation that takes place in our body.may be it will be helpful for medical students.
Three types of selectins- E-selectin,P-selectin,L-selectin.the CD maker for selectin is CD62.
E,P,L selectins are present on endothelium, endothelium&platelets, leucocytes respectively.
The function of selectins is rolling on endothelial layer after margination.
The complemenatry receptors for E,P selectins are Sialyl Lewis x modified glycoprotein present on leucocytes.
For L selectin the complementary receptor is GLYCAM1/CD34 present on endothelium.
Hope you learned something from this post.
