Tele Tuesday - Weller Weller

No, this is not the Wellerman song that is a viral hit on Tiktok. This is a Paul Weller song called Sunflower. Back in 1995 I bought an issue of Total Guitar magazine that had the backing track and details of how to play it. This was before I had access to such things online. There were some sites that had tab (guitar notation), but Youtube was not invented yet. I still have the magazine and the CD. I learnt to play it back then, but have not played it through in a long while.

There are only three different sections to it, but they have varying numbers of repeats which can make it tricky. I had a little practice today, but then it took me a few goes to get the recording setup working properly. There is a bit where the backing drops out leaving just the guitar and I managed to keep in time there.

I was thinking of doing something with drums today, but did not have time.

As ever I am playing my Benford custom Telecaster through a Zoom G3X.

I have a load more magazines with such backing tracks. I ought to learn more of the songs.
