Description from Strava:
It was exciting to watch Josh Kerr break the mile record in the Diamond League event in London (on TV). That record has stood for a long time. I am always amazed at how fast top athletes can run. I would struggle to go half as fast for any time.

My own run today was more sedate, but still good for me. I just went for it without pushing too hard. The first couple of kilometres were warming up and then I got quicker. I passed a distance marker up West Drive for the local 10k that was last weekend whilst I was away. I saw a couple more of those, but I am not sure of the full course.

It was not too warm out there and that suits me. It is easier to sleep when it is cooler too. I saw plenty of people out enjoying the nice weather.

I took a different route through Stotfold for some variety. There are lots of different roads and footpaths to choose from. I had to walk over there the other day for some dental work. A filling from when I was a child needed replacing. That was not fun, or cheap.

I took the longer way home across the fields and then around the Arlesey allotments. There was a group of dog walkers gathered there.

It was a good run overall. I will do some other workouts over the week. I will volunteer at parkrun again soon, but they seem to be getting plenty of people most weeks. I think everyone should volunteer sometimes to give something back as the events will not happen if nobody does that and you are getting them for free anyway.

We have been to the cinema today and I will report on that on Hive soon. As always I am happy to create accounts for those who want an alternative platform to blog on.

Happy Sunday and run free!
