Baking in my sleep

Did you know #breadbakers was a thing on Steemit? It was started by @breadbakers.

I'm not a great baker, but I do love fresh bread. Some years ago someone gave me a breadmaker they weren't using and I've found it useful. You just load it up with the ingredients and it does the rest. You can set a timer so that it's ready in the morning.

I set it up last night and I awoke to that great smell. Things did not go totally smoothly as the baking tin got a bit stuck. It needed a little force to twist it so I could lift it out. This broke up the top crust a bit.

It probably shouldn't rise quite this much, but getting the yeast just right in tricky. I'm using a 50/50 mix of white and granary flour. I've got plenty of white as a friend is a miller and got us a big sack of it.

It's not the prettiest loaf, but it will do for my lunch.

My daughter is more of a baker than me. I ought to get her onto Steem to share her bakes.
