Morning Run: Over and under

steevc@steevc just finished a 5.56km run, that lasted for 33 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 395.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
I ran yesterday, but decided to get out again today as my legs did not feel too bad. It was still overcast and so not too warm in the morning. I did a relatively flat loop along the new road and back via the old one. In the past I had to run out and back the same way.

This route means crossing the bypass via a footbridge and then an underpass, so there is some uphill involved. It was quiet around the school as the kids are still on holiday, but they may have been in later to get exam results.

When I got to the underpass a guy was sprinting up the slope, so I assume he was doing hill intervals like I do elsewhere. I was taking it fairly easy today, but I did speed up on the second half and kept the average under 6min/km.

Over by the allotments I saw a white egret in the stream, but they always fly away before I get close. The red kites are nearly always around overhead.

I was planning to run at parkrun, but they seem to be short of volunteers again. This is despite the number of runners going up. People need to give a little back even if they just help a few times each year. I really don't worry about running 'streaks'.

Run free and do good.
