Chinaza || the answered prayer

Chinaza was the only child and son of his parents, he was well loved by his parents who would not allow anything bad to happen to him, not only that, provisions were always made available for all his needs.

His parents waited for years before he could be conceived. It took them ten 18 years before his conception took place. Although, from what we heard in the public space, his mother tried all her possible means to get conceived but all to no avail.

It's in those years when his mother could not get conceived that the family of his father, the Ayoola's family called their son, Mr. Anthony Ayoola to a family meeting asking him,

"Tony, what is wrong with you and your wife?" "Nothing," he answered frankly. " Well, since there's nothing wrong with you and your wife, then, you have to do something about your childlessness and what we would suggest to you is to get married secretly to a girl from our village," the family head said on behalf of every member of the family.

After they had told him to take for himself a new wife which they believe would deliver him from her barrenness, he, Mr. Anthony got angry to what he considered as a bad advice by his family members and he said to them all at the meaning that,

"You people should stop disturbing me, I love my wife and would not do anything to betray her and her trust in me." "What trust? " One of them asked. But because I was not interested in explaining anything to them, I walked out on all of them.

Mr. Anthony said that, Although, walking out on them was not that easy as they were all shouting and at the same time mocking him, but that he managed to turn deaf ear to what he would consider as a disgrace and embarrassment to his person.

With the event of things that happened between Mr. Anthony and his family, we were being told that he felt rejected and dejected by his family's action and if not for the grace of Almighty God, he would have gone ahead to commit suicide, but for the special grace of God on him and also, for the love she had for his beautiful Igbo wife Ijeoma who his family had tagged as a witch who would not give them their grandchildren, he didn't commit suicide.

Less I forget, we were told that Mr. Anthony was man enough to pretend as if nothing happened at the family meeting he attended as he put on a smiling face and even bought fruit on his way home which he presented to his beautiful wife, Ijeoma.

When Ijeoma asked him about the meeting he attended with his family, he told her saying,
"My beautiful wife, the meeting was a good and meaningful one at that, in fact we wined and dined together discussing how to move our family forward." "Wow! That's good." She said, "Yes ooo, my dear," I replied. "Maami and other members of the family sent their greetings to you," I said.

We were told that, Anthony did this not to let his wife hate his family members and when I heard this, I was a little bit surprised and this was because, I have never in my life seen a man who could act just to protect his family who were on his neck and are also against him and his wife.

However, after a series of medical checkups, tests and spiritual exercises, we were told that Ijeoma, Anthony's wife, finally conceived, which they hid for months without the wife going out on a visit to her friend or any members of her family.

Even with this, the pregnancy which was meant for nine months lasted for 13 months and at the 10 months as we were told, they became scared as fear crept into their heart and gripped them, they continued with their spiritual exercises and in the first month of the 14th month of the pregnancy, the wife, Ijeoma gave birth to a bouncing baby boy and there was joy in the atmosphere for both Mr and Mrs Anthony.

On the day of the naming ceremony, Mr. Anthony, who had not told his family what God had done in his life, called them all and asked them to come to his place as he would love to reconcile with them all.

He had told them this a week earlier which was immediately after her wife had delivered to him a bouncing baby boy. On their arrival at his residence, they found the atmosphere to be that of celebration and it's then that they got to know that what they had been clamoring for had come to pass, although not by their own threat, but by the Lord's doing which was marvelous in their sights.

They all sat down and ate after which they went to beg Mr and Mrs Anthony for forgiveness. It's when they came to him for forgiveness that the wife narrated all that had happened to his wife and while he was narrating to his wife all that had happened, his wife interrupted him and said he knew what had happened in that day that he came home smiling, as he had been called by the head of the family to leave their son alone.

She said that she was at first downcast with the threat of the family head, but that, when she saw her husband smiling and lively as if nothing had happened, she too became strong and acted as if nothing had happened.

When I heard this, I felt cold and anger was well written over me. It's my wife that told me that God has given us victory by giving us Chinaza as a gift from him and that's how we forgave them.
