True talk is bitter

Greetings!

There are some things in this life that have always caused disaffection between people. Although to me these things shouldn't have been, due to the individual differences in humans, there's no way we could do away with offending others by making our opinions known to them which might be kind of offensive to them.

Having said this, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt which is all about, “Getting offensive.”

People have been offended just because they were being advised to do something right, so just because of this, they take the other person who had advised them to do the right thing as their enemy.

So, one thing that must be taken to mind when trying to air our opinion is to first think about that opinion of ours and make sure it's well presented to the said person we have in mind to advise. I have overtime advised a friend of mine to desist from being a playboy, but this friend of mine whose name is Femi would not listen to me, but instead, he would take me to be his enemy who would not want him to enjoy his life.

So, ever since that time, I have always minded my business not to trespass or interfere in another person's matter and one thing I can say about this is that this simple act has really limited my voice as I would not want my voice to be held responsible and taken for an enemy.

Although Femi later changed to become a new person who would stop being a womanizer or playboy, even at that, I have always mind my own business when it comes to making my opinion known to others about what they are doing that is not good or which is bad.

Also, one thing that I have been doing whenever I want to interfere in other people's life or matters is that I would try to study the kind of person who I am to advise. If he or she is someone that is mature enough to heed to advice, I will go ahead and advise him or her, but if not, I would withdraw from advising them so as not to put myself into a situation of being an offender.

This issue is really affecting people's relationships in the society now as people who have been a victim of this act would not even want to give it a thought to advice or share their opinion with others and this is not because of anything else, but because of their experiences in the hand of those that they have once advised but would only take them as an enemy just because of sharing their opinion with them.

In conclusion, we should know who to air our opinion with, but at the same time we should not allow our voices to be limited as it can save lives.
