El FESTIVAL DE TANGO./ THE TANGO FESTIVAL.(EN/ES)

Siempre me ha gustado el Tango y tengo el sueño de aprender a bailarlo alguna vez. Lo que nunca imaginé es que en mi país caribeño se ha estado realizando un festival que agrupa a los amantes del Tango, tanto cubanos como extranjeros. Por eso llegué con cierta expectativa a Habana Espacios Creativos, la sede escogida para realizar varias de las actividades del festival.

Allí me encontré con el profesor Villafaña, quien me diera clases en la niñez. Gracias a él me enteré de este festival y también del concurso de artes visuales que se realizó en el marco del festival. Villafaña fue designado presidente del jurado de ese concurso y ese día también se había sumado con una muestra representantiva de su trabajo artístico.

El festival duró varios días, el día que les muestro fue concebida una exposición de la obra de artesanos y artistas, y llegaron muchos mostrando sobre mesas sus creaciones.Asi tuve la oportunidad de irlos conociendo y conversar con ellos en las mesas.

Empecé el recorrido por esta mesa donde encontré una variada muestra de artesanías. Incluidas imágenes de Catrinas, muy celebradas en México y que precisamente estábamos en esa fecha del año.

Este colega con su amable sonrisa, tenía una muy creativa muestra de hojas caladas y otros objetos artesanales sobre la mesa. Y también a su lado una vitrina con esulturas de madera y materiales reiclados.

También era el expositor de esta interesante muestra de pequeñas esculturas realizadas con materiales reciclados con formas realmente creativas y originales.

Al frente en otra mesa una muestra de collares pulsos y otras artesanías eran la propuesta de esta artesana, quien también me confesó ser una prácticante de la medicina natural.

Precisamente a su lado izquierdo otra participante nos trajo una muestra de algunos productos naturales realizados de forma artesanal para el cuidado de la salud y la belleza.

Continuando el recorrido por las mesas, llegamos a esta propuesta artesanal que incluye ungüentos, cremas, bálsamos, velas con numerosos usos. Incluso también carteras y otras artesanías utilitarias y decorativas.

Eran varios los artistas que se sumaron a esta exposición. Aquí vemos a uno que gusta de la temática del rock, especialmente la imagen de las figuras emblematicas del rock de los años 60.

Allí estaba también la pintora Ismaray junto a una amiga presentando su colección de arte y artesanía.

Otra artista nos trajo una muestra de caricaturas y grabados sobre papel.

Algunos tuvieron la suerte de vender alguna obra, lo cual era la intención de esta exposición. Este artista presentaba esencialmente su obra de grabado sobre papel muy originales.

Lo muchachos de Ucronia merecen mención aparte. Se destacaron por una presentación muy bien concebida del diseño de su stand y de los productos que ofrecían. Todo en correspondencia con la visualidad de su marca comercial.

Le pedí a esta colega que me mostrará la obra con la que estaba concursando en el evento de artes visuales sobre el Tango. No recuerdo su nombre, pero si que también hablamos de poesía y que al mostrarle las que he publicado en Hive me dió algunos sabios consejos.

Esta es la muestra que ella trajo de su trabajo. Temas muy cubanos realizados con una destacada técnica pictórica. Muy coloridos y bellamente dibujados.

Deje esta foto para el final. Aquí les presento a Leo, quien junto con su mujer (una bailarina de Tango)son los artifices de este festival de Tango, que ya tiene varias ediciones. Leo fue mi profesor de escultura cuando era pequeño y siempre me motivo su creatividad y su entusiasmo. Por eso cuando Villafaña me comentó que era Leo el promotor del evento no pude dejar participar con una escultura en el concurso de artes visuales dentro del festival de Tango. Pero eso se los contaré en otra publicación.

Como ven el día estuvo bien concurrido. En este lugar se celebro el evento nacional de los Hivers cubanos en el 2024. Y en esta ocasión también estuvo muy concurrido y participativo. Espero hayas disfrutado de este recorrido por el ambiente expositivo de un día en el Festival de Tango de la Habana.

Dear Hiver... I've always loved Tango and dreamed of learning to dance it someday. I began my tour at this table where I found a diverse display of handicrafts. These included images of Catrinas, a very popular figure in Mexico, and it was precisely that time of year.

This colleague, with his friendly smile, had a very creative display of cut-out leaves and other handcrafted objects on the table. Next to him was a display case with sculptures made of wood and recycled materials.

He was also the exhibitor of this interesting display of small sculptures made with recycled materials in truly creative and original shapes.

At the front, on another table, a display of necklaces, bracelets, and other handicrafts was the offering of this artisan, who also confessed to me that she was a practitioner of natural medicine.

Right next to her left, another participant brought us a sample of some natural products made by hand for health and beauty care.

Continuing our tour of the tables, we arrive at this artisanal offering that includes ointments, creams, balms, and candles with numerous uses. It also includes wallets and other utilitarian and decorative crafts.

Several artists contributed to this exhibition. Here we see one who enjoys the theme of rock, especially the image of iconic rock figures from the 1960s.

The painter Ismaray was also there with a friend, presenting her art and craft collection.

Another artist brought us a sample of caricatures and prints on paper.

Some were fortunate enough to sell a piece, which was the intention of this exhibition. This artist primarily presented his highly original prints on paper.

The Ucronia team deserves special mention. They stood out for their well-conceived presentation of their stand design and the products they offered, all in keeping with their brand's visual identity.

I asked this colleague to show me the piece she was submitting to the Tango visual arts competition. I don't remember her name, but I do remember that we also talked about poetry, and when I showed her the poems I'd published on Hive, she gave me some wise advice.

This is the sample of her work that she brought. Very Cuban themes executed with outstanding painting technique. Very colorful and beautifully drawn.

I saved this photo for last. Here's Leo, who, along with his wife (a tango dancer), is the mastermind behind this tango festival, which has been running for several years. Leo was my sculpture teacher when I was little, and his creativity and enthusiasm always inspired me. That's why, when Villafaña told me that Leo was the event's organizer, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to participate with a sculpture in the visual arts competition at the tango festival.
