Beef Udon Stir-Fry
Hi bloggers and food lovers, I hope you’re all having a great holiday. On this day off, I’ve created another udon dish. For some reason, I’ve been really into udon lately. This time, it’s a beef udon stir-fry that looks like Jajangmyeon, but it doesn’t use black soybean paste so it's not Jajangmyeon. Okay, let’s get right to it.
Ingredients:
- 1 package of udon
- 1L water
- 40 grams of sliced beef (sliced beef is recommended)
- A small piece of ginger
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 3 tbsp sweet soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp chili flakes
- 1 tbsp sambal sauce
- 100 ml water
- 1 egg (optional)
- sesame seeds
- cooking oil
Instructions:
Bring the water to a boil then add the udon and boil for 1 minute
Once cooked, drain the water and set the udon aside
- Prepare the marinated beef (marinated for 3 hours with ginger slices, pepper, 1 tbsp sweet soy sauce, 1 tsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp oyster sauce, and baking soda)
- Heat the cooking oil, then add the marinated beef and stir-fry briefly
- Add the sambal sauce, chili flakes, and the remaining sweet soy sauce and salted soy sauce
- Sauté until the seasonings are slightly absorbed
- Add 100 ml of water, then reduce the heat and cook until the liquid has reduced
- Once the liquid has reduced, add the previously boiled udon
- Stir until well combined
- Once well combined, serve on a plate topped with a sunny-side-up egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top and a little chili powder
