Hive Open Mic Week 304 //Status// by Vashawn Mitchell cover by @oluthomas
Movement doesn’t only happen when someone is physically active and people can see it. There are movements that only the individual notices, movements that only the Creator notices, and movements that both the Creator, the person, and other people will eventually notice.
Let’s take the story of Joseph in the Bible as an example. After Joseph had his dream and shared it with his brothers, they became angry and later planned to kill him so that the dream would never come to pass. But God stepped in. Instead of killing him, they sold him, not knowing that everything they were doing was indirectly pushing him toward the fulfillment of his purpose.
If you look at Joseph’s life at the point he was sold, it seemed like a backward movement. But he was still moving, though not visibly to everyone. Only God knew what He was doing with him. Joseph went to Potiphar’s house, was falsely accused, and thrown into prison. Yet, that was still movement.
Then suddenly, the king had a dream and no one could interpret it. That moment became God’s opportunity to move Joseph from prison to the palace, from a prisoner to a prime minister without even reopening the accusation against him. What kind of movement is that?
There are movements whose outcomes you won’t see immediately. Spiritually, you may be moving at great speed, even when physically people see no evidence. So keep trusting God while you move. One day, God will make your dream a reality, just as He did for Joseph. His brothers eventually came and saw him, and they were perplexed, but that’s how God operates.
I did a cover of a song by VaShawn Mitchell titled “Status.” The song talks about how our status is changing and that we should not decline. We should keep going, the change will surely come. Stay in motion and keep activating what God has destined you to be.
Thank you for your time, and please feel free to share your opinion on how you view the world of movement in the comment section.
Remain blessed, fam 🙏
