Afritunes Week 204 NI Naka Ne/ I'm Yours cover by @oluthomas
I watched a lady on TikTok explaining why she doesn’t believe there is God. She said there is nothing like Jesus Christ and that Jesus does not answer prayers. I didn’t follow her to argue because I always want to learn and understand different views.
One thing she said was that we are God, and that our ancestors are the gods we should pray through. I still didn’t argue, but it raised questions in my heart. If I am a God, then I should be able to control how long I live. If I am a God, I shouldn’t fall sick. If I am a God, I should be completely perfect and even know what lies ahead, basically, know the future.
She was strongly kicking against the scriptures, and I noticed that some of her followers disagreed with her while others supported her. I’m not judging anyone because belief is personal, and no one should be forced to believe what doesn’t work for them. Even if she tried to convince me that the Bible is not legit, she couldn’t.
I have tried life without Christ, and I have also tried life with Christ, and I know the difference. Life without Christ leads to destruction. You can be alive physically but dead inside long before you actually die.
Recently in Nigeria, there was a lady who was working and earning well, yet she still took her life. When I asked what could lead to such an act, I heard that she had been complaining about depression and no one was listening to her.
I’m not trying to brag, but I have been depressed before to o the point where I almost took my own life. I thank God for His Word. No human words could ease the pain I was feeling, but real comfort came from the Word of God, and that is something I will always praise Him for.
The reason I took my time to explain all this is because of the song I did for this week’s entry, “Ni Naka Ne / I’m Yours” by Jobie, a Nigerian gospel minister. The songwriter declares that as long as he lives, he belongs to God and that he was bought with a price. For a man to come to that understanding, it means he knows the worth of his life and has had a personal revelation of who Jesus is.
Thank you so much for taking your time to read through my post.
