Ease Comes at a Cost
Our world today keeps evolving to a greater extent, and one of the obvious changes we have experienced so far is the rise of AI.
Here on Hive, I started hearing that people now use AI to develop their content within seconds and expect rewards for a zero-effort task. Before I could say Jack, this So content got so popular across different social media platforms, and many people, including those with office jobs, embraced it as it eased their work a lot.
From writing, I started seeing wonderful images flying up and down, created by this AI with just a command. Solving math, generating business ideas, and more weren't excluded; it gradually spread across our world and has gained a lot of momentum so far because this AI seems to have answers to all our headaches, and trust humans tob embrace ease rather than stressing their minds.
So yeah, I wouldn't deny it, AI so far has made our lives so much easier. For someone like me who juggles mom duties, business, and other responsibilities, I love to see a tool that makes things lighter for me and still gives me results, but then, I also find myself asking, at what cost does this ease come?
When I was doing my research some years back, I remember thinking deeply and creatively solved the problems, and I am sure it was the same for most people back then. If it is essay you want to write; you will sit down and carefully organize your thoughts, but these days, with AI tools, we need just a few seconds, and that is it. And while this comfort zone is quite impressive, my concern is that we are gradually losing our creativity.
Recently, my kids were doing their project, and not too long after, they gave up with thinking creatively and came to me to request my phone so they could ask AI. Can you imagine that? No more critical thinking, no more brainstorming; it's now about shortcuts even as little as they are. It bothers me,and I am just imagining what the future holds for us.
There are simple skills we enjoyed doing those days, but I watch them being ruled out gradually all for artificial intelligence.
Having said that, I don't believe AI is the problem here; the problem is that we are too reluctant and allowed what should assist us to replace our place totally. Instead of using AI to refine our ideas, add new knowledge, and expand our thoughts, we allowed our minds to stop being challenged anymore.
Our heroes of the past did great things out of curiosity, and I wonder if something can still be invented today since we now live in our comfort zones; growth requires effort, indeed!
overall, everyone loves easier life but we must find a balance with the use of Ai to avoid losing our creativity completely which could attract great negative outcome at the long run.
