Sports Day Today Was Everything We Needed

Today was one of those days that reminded me of how much I love the teaching profession. We had sporting activities today and it was really fun. Yes extra curricular activities are also needed for general growth of the school.

The energy of the learners was enough to cure any stress. From the moment they arrived in the morning with their sports wears, fully ready to have fun. We started the day with the usual morning devotion. Then everyone went back to their various classes for the first lesson.

Around 11:00am, the bell was rang and they all came out joyfully. They were asked to run around the school compound for some minutes, then after which they jumped, played football and musical instruments.

It was a one hour, thirty minutes activity and after which they went for break time.

After the breaktime, teaching continued, I noticed that few of my learners are still struggling to read simple sentences, even though I have done, sounds and merging of sounds to read simple sentences, yet some are still struggling, so today I decided to take them to the wall chart for Reading.

We did it repeatedly, until they mastered it. Honestly one of the best feelings of teaching is seeing that the learners captures and perfect what they are taught. It was heart fulfilling.

After the teaching, I took them back to the class and we continued with the other activities.

One of the best things teaching has taught me is patience . With these little ones, you have no choice but to be patient with them. It has also taught me how to care more for others. Today was one of those beautiful days that came with unforgettable moments. This was just how today went and it was nothing but fun.
