Learning, Growing, and Connecting Beyond the Scroll
I'm not sure I'll share my thoughts the same way I had wanted to yesterday when I saw the prompt, I decided to go for another prompt and now I have to find the vibe I was going to use. Social media is one part of my life that has experienced change that I had never imagined for it before.
Before now, I would spend all day watching reels and short videos on social media to spend time away without realizing how much of my time I'm wasting away. It slowly became a habit that I am still struggling to break out of. But now, I speak of social media with more positivity than before.
That is because I've come to understand how social media influence our lives and how we can use that to our advantage and still live life much better. As the prompt ask, what ways has social media positively influenced my daily life? In many ways actually, especially in how I see the world.
Now, I use social media to teach myself about whatever I want to learn, find out information I need, build connection with people who are shaping me towards a better future and embracing a life that is beyond just scrolling with no action taken. Social media is more than that.
This is where I'll share what I think are the best steps to take for a healthy balance between social media and real-life activities. First of all, see social media as a part of your life, not your life. Secondly, have an active life outside of social media and it doesn't have to be a grand life.
Simply spending time to enjoy nature, do art, grow a plant, start a small project, being active with community activities or being with family, all that are more than a life to have. Spending too much time on social media will rip all these away from you so it's important to spend time wisely.
The one hack I do that I'll always recommend for who wants to utilize social media while living their lives is, be you and don't let what is shared influence you to being less of you or think you're not enough. Comparison is a daily war to fight on social media, get past it and you'll do just fine.
