A Personal Take on Two Emotionally Driven Movies
Today was somewhat for me, one of those days that I would really appreciate a good movie so I decided to give the movie on my watch list a chance and I think I feel a lot better than before I saw it. And that's because the story speaks more to me at this point of my life. So I'll review them.
I saw one yesterday and today's own, will just share my thoughts on them, nothing much really.
Taken By Grace (2013)
This is the one I saw today, I actually just finished seeing it. It's a lot dramatic than it seem. A story about an ex convict who just got out of prison, kidnaps a couple so they could take him to where he would kill the man who killed his son. It also reveals the story of the couple as they go through a patch because the man cheated on his wife.
The closing scene was so unexpected but made a lot of sense as it unraveled, I think saying even a little bit more will be a spoiler for that closing scene in this story but I can say, I love how even more beautifully it turned out unexpectedly.
It has small action, lots of talk but mainly about deep hurts that needs lot of healing and the story didn't show it different from how the real world see it, deep wounds takes time to heal. 7.5/10.
Love On The Rock (2021)
An action movie that got me laughing more than being tensed about the action. It's a story about a retired cop who has decided to settle as a cruise guide in Malta after he lost his wife. He encounters a guy who is said to hold a valuable item that the government wants but the guy dies and they suspects he knows where the item is. He is pushed into the hassle to save his life.
Then there is also the part where he got trick into falling in love with a lady sent on a mission to find the item before the government does. Well, that part of the story went just as I expected it so not as exciting. Still, I really enjoyed the laughs especially with a female character in the story.
Maybe I've seen too many action movies, this one didn't have as much action but it was good enough, I enjoyed my time on it too. 7/10.
