Old trees - Haiku
Splinters from old trees
leave memories of past deeds
written as we climbed
I started combining sketches with poems/ haikus/etc... I wrote this one while my son played in the park. All I had on me was a small notebook and a pen so I used what I could.
This sketch/poem concept is nothing new in itself. I remember reading books written and illustrated by Shel Silverstein in younger days. I recently brought my son the same books and began reading them to him at night. I was inspired to begin creating the same combination of sketch and written words.
The sketches will get better... I hope so anyway. :-)
