Welcome To Adulthood.

You know what, when certain things begin to happen to you and the only thing you often hear is, "oga, you're on your own o." Don't even check it, it's adulthood. And believe me, adulthood goes beyond by force by fire....

While growing up, all my thoughts was that, when I become an adult too, I will be free, I will eat what I want, send kids on errands, and maybe cheat my junior ones cause you, am now an adult😁😁, but then nobody told me that it was all a scam. Real adulthood is stress, bills, debit alert, worry, and the shout of, "God when," and "omo" every seconds 🥺.

I made it out of home and began staying on my own, that was how one particular day, I received a text message from my agent.

"Good morning sir, kindly be reminded that your rent is two days due."

It surprised me o, me, so have began paying rent😁, but, is it up to a year yet.

I quickly went in search of the receipt I collected then, and then I saw it, my rent was due. 🤦

Why will my rent be due at a time like this, I can't bring myself to accept it, I opened my back app to see if anything could be done, maybe I can afford to pay half and plead for a little extension.

I checked my back app and guess what my bank app showed me..

"Mr, we're both struggling, or did you work overnight, if not stop disturbing me."

My own app o, so it can't just grow up some money for me🥺.

Now, let's talk about dating. That one is a much more advanced scam. If you remember secondary school very well, it's usually dramatic then, and cute too. Sincerely, you cry a little, withdraw from friends and such, then you pick up your diary or note and write some things on it. But heartbreak when you're an adult hits differently. After you've bought pizza, bought shawarma, go to spa, buy gifts and all then somebody's daughter will still come and dump you. I remember my ex then tokd me after breakup that, "I'm sorry, it's not you, it's me." Believe me I didn't know when I burst out and said, "it's you o, it's you and your taste for very expensive things, kilode🤨."

This adulthood enh, it will teach you that when you make mistakes, you sit with it and eat and beat it. It's yours. Adulthood is a scam, it's not what we thought it would be.

I fell sick recently and I realized how painful it is that there's nobody to shout on, nobody to call me and say, "have you eaten that food, corn and take your drugs." I had to drag myself to the hospital, get drugs and injections, drag myself back home and still pamper myself. That's why we see adults sleeping like log of woods when they have the opportunity, because adulthood ain't easy, and that's why we see our parents sleep very well these days, it's their time to eventually rest, we are now our own parents.

I wanted to shout on my bank manager the other day, I saw my salary and it was nothing to write home about, they've deducted almost everything, tax, pension, something due and one other charges, I was like, what category is this "other charges" what's it for, where did that money go, which charges, fo you end to kill me....😔

Assuming it's possible to remain a kid, I would have loved too o, cause with the way things are presently, only the kids are enjoying, they don't really bother or think. The worry and all is always on the adult. Adulthood is full package, you get both what you subscribed for and those you never knew were hidden subscriptions too.

Anytime I hear a child say, "I can't wait to grow up." I just laugh and wish we could switch places. The other day, a child said the same thing to me, I smiled, looked at him and said, "my dear, you better enjoy your biscuit and mr fruit in peace, don't rush o, if possible remain this way." He was just looking at me, well I understood better.

Adulting is a very expensive scam, but then, what do I do. I'm already there, and I'm managing things as it is, even if it's garri, we move.
