Hot July, journal
Warm weather, I gave myself a little break to rest from both gardening and writing.
We enjoy the pool, we have fenced it off a bit with a tarp and a shade net to prevent unwanted views. We brought a bench, plastic chairs, and almost an outdoor living room.
But yes, it's not exactly a vacation because some things won't wait.Cherry tomatoes arrive every day, so we pick them and eat them like the real fruit that tomatoes actually are.
My wife was a little early with the melons, they could have been in the garden for a few more days, but they will ripen anyway.
And our number one crop in the garden is coming. Her majesty peppers.
Two types of hot peppers arrived a month and a half ago and now the so-called sweet peppers are arriving. I have six types of them and some are already ready to eat. Although we prefer when these green ones turn red, but we couldn't wait :)
It's not time for apples yet, but some have fallen from the tree. I know some have worms and that's why they fell, and others were blown down by the wind.
The fig tree is doing well, it has a lot of fruit and a few young trees that I will transplant in the fall. And I always take pictures of this fig tree, which is a tree. But I have another one that behaves like a bush. In fact, it is fighting for light next to the apricot, hazelnut and wall.
In greenhouse the second round of okra is progressing excellently, the first round didn't work for us, I think we may have planted it too early. And the chives, we're not having any luck with them, they're not doing well for us. We haven't found a good recipe for them yet.
We let the chickens out into the large yard but we make sure they don't go into the front yard. Although a lot of the grass in the yard is already dry.
I hope you are enjoying these warm days somewhere by the water and in the shade. Or you in the snow in the southern hemisphere.
