Common Wood Pigeon

I work in a part of the city where there are houses in the main street, there is a lot of greenery and trees. And of course there are a lot of birds. Sparrows, pigeons, swallows...
Since the company is set up so that one apartment overlooks the main traffic road and the other a small side street. And it is precisely in that small side street that there are a lot of birds.

I pass this street every day because I go to the store. And I usually find the birds in flight.
I tried several times but I couldn't "catch" them.
After last night's rain, the morning is still cloudy and I found a lorikeet sitting on the fence
I thought he would be in the mood to pose for me.

By the time I managed to take a few quick pictures, he was already agitated with my approach.

And I managed to catch it in flight, as well as a few other birds. Just so you can see that this place is teeming with birds. Since I walk through this street when I go to the grocery store for breakfast, I have limited time. I'll have to make a little more time for new pictures.

I thought this was a city pigeon, but with a little research I found out that this is a Common Wood Pigeon (scientific name: Columba palumbus). It is the largest species of wild pigeon in Europe, recognizable by the white spots on the sides of the neck (which resemble a mane) and the white stripes on the wings that are clearly visible in flight
