Trying To Paint T.O.P Using Acrylic Paint. It’s Been A While
Hello, how are you? The weather yesterday is Gloomy so I decided to paint using acrylic again because what's the point of not using it hehe, and I am scared to ruin alot of paintbrush again but I set aside that fear and encourage myself to paint again, for the past week I've been trying to sketch portrait on a canvas panel but nothing works so I gave up and then I saw that canvas lying around and I tried to do it again and I guess I like the outcome of the sketch so I painted it. Took me days to finish it. But worth it though, I thought I could not paint acrylic as I did before LOL, but I survived.
Materials I Used:
- Acrylic Paints
- Tissue
- Paintbrush
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Jar With Water
- Hot Blower
- Canvas Panel
- Easel
- Pallete
Time To Paint!
I first sketch the reference on the canvas panel using pencil and eraser and then I prepare all the materials I need.
And I pour the acrylic paints I needed on a palette that has a tissue that is wet and under the glassine to prevent the paint being dry fast.
And before I start painting the portrait, I am going to tone the canvas first with burnt sienna using this makeup brush I bought years ago.
I paint just enough to cover the whites on the canvas.
And then I used a hot blower to dry it quickly.
I layer it with red under the skin, and I thought that would work LOL. And before the sketch gets erased completely, I outline it using the darkest brown I have on my palette.
I keep trying to layer it with different skin colors, and I thought this was not going to work, and I remembered that that is how it works, weird phase at first, but keep going.
Before I lost my mind, I added color to the other part of the portrait just for me to figure it out in the future on what technique I am going to use to fix the skin LOL.
I just keep layering it until I perfect the right skin color.
And one of the solutions is to add background color, and I guess that helps.
Fix the iconic tie and then the suit.
Finish everything with highlights.
I decided to finalize everything before I lost my mind. Here is the close-up look so you can see the effort I made layering everything LOL.
Here is the tie and the mic.
I hope you like it! :D
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
