Start My Birthday Month With Tulips In Oil Pastels
Hello, how are you? It is the first day of July, and to welcome that, I have this headache that won't go away since I got home from the grocery, and I wanted to cry so bad. Maybe that will help, but I can't. I think I need to spend less screen time because my eye is getting blurry, and I can feel it at the back of my eye LOL.
And I thought drawing oil pastel would ease the pain. It isn't... crying while drawing helps hahaha. I don't want to drink medicine because drinking too much of it might not be good for my health, so I always sleep with the pain, and the pain will be gone tomorrow. And yeah, my birthday is tomorrow, and I hope this headache will be gone by tomorrow because I decided to cook for my birthday because I don't like eating out LOL wish me luck.
So yeah, I miss drawing tulips. It's been a while, so why not draw it today? I did.
Materials I Used:
- Paper
- Oil Pastels
- Tape
- Tissue
- Scratching Tool
- Tape
Craft Time!
I start by taping the paper to a flat surface to make the paper move in the process of me drawing something. And when everything is set, I draw the line art using blue oil pastels.
Lightly layer the very first layer of oil pastels in order to blend them easily when I layer them with another oil pastel.
Fill everything with oil pastels. This way, blending will be easier. The oil pastels I use are the best it has texture to it which I really like. And to make the drawing more dimensional, adding strong shadow is the key.
It is time to add the background, so I decided orange is a very good combo with blue, so that's what I did, just like I did to my previous arts. I added extra color to the tulips to make it more interesting to look at. When the shade of blue is good for the subject, I fill everything with it.
When everything is good, I use this clay tool, and the use of it is to scratch some part that I wanted to be highlighted or just wanted texture to the drawing.
This is what the texture looks like from top to bottom.
Here are the final looks.
I tried to take a photo in portrait mode LOL.
I hope you like it! :D
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
