Recreating My Old Drawing From 9 Years Ago Pt. 6
Hello, how are you? I once read from someone's post that once you're so focused on something, you can't stop doing it, and that hit me so hard. There is one time that I can't stop doing something, it drives me crazy not doing, but the conciquence about is that the moment your energy is used, all of it, all that motivation, all gone in one day LOL.
So sometimes I can't stand this kind of habit, but I manage to not be too persistent to do 10 tasks a day. One thing that fixes that for me is drawing a portrait using a graphite pencil. This relaxes me so much that it is why I have a lot of series about it, or it is because it has been a while since I drew one.
Materials I Used:
- Paper
- Graphite Pencils
- Charcoal Pencil
- Eraser
- Charcoal Powder
- Brush
Drawing Time!
First thing to do is to prepare all the materials I am going to use, including the old drawing for inspiration, LOL.
As you can see, my drawing has a lot of lines after drawing. I get used to using the line in order to draw the right proportion of the portrait. After that, I will erase those to lessen the distraction when rendering the drawing. Now I am ready to add the shadows and everything.
I like to outline my drawing with a darker shade of pencil in order for me to see it more clearly when adding shadow. Before I start adding shades, I am going to use a lid and a brush, and of course, powdered charcoal.
I like to start on every part, not a particular part, hehe.
I keep layering it with powdered charcoal until everything looks good and correctly shaded.
To add a highlight, I am going to use my retractable eraser and erase the part that needs to be lighter.
A closer look at the portrait.
Did a little photoshoot.
Here is a comparison between the two.
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
