My Collection of Art Materials Pencil Medium
Hello, how are you? For years of doing art I've been invested some of art materials medium just like pencils to be honest every person who wanted to start art starts with pencil and still fresh in my mind me and my cousin use to be so into it to the point that our uncle who is a real artist involve to our art journey and he is the reason why I tried oil and charcoal for the first time.
By the way, I am gonna show what I invested in my graphite pencil medium and what are the thing I bought that I should not buy LOL.
Graphite Pencils:
The famous graphite pencil, when I was still starting to use to be Steadler, and I think Staedler is still slaying the art materials until now, and then I got curious with Faber-Castell, and I tried, and I fell in love with and since then I collected some of their pencil in different values. And then one of these pencils I use to draw when I was still making commissions is the 4H Coleen pencil. I really like those, so I bought a new one in case LOL.
There is this one Steadler 8B, I just figured out that so dark and matte perfect for the darkest.
Blending Tools:
These blending tools are recommended by my friend from college, that use to draw portraits, and it really helpful. They got neclected, so they look like that, but I am using them now. You need sandpaper to clean, which I have now, so I cleaned some of them.
I think having only one of these blending tools is enough for me. I like to keep one of the middle ones, which is between the thickest and thinnest.
And I have this makeup brush my mom bought for me, and now I am using it as a blending tool. This is perfect for blending with sheer effect, so I like using it around the eyes or nose for contour.
Mechanical Pencils:
For the mechanical pencils, I have 0.3mm, the thinnest I got curious if I can drawing with details with it and I am but it is too thin to see so I have a little regret buying it and then I have the general size which is 0.5mm this is really my go to size I neclect it once but now I realize that that is only you need LOL. And then this one is the most regret I thought I though I am going to use it often, but it is not my still the size 1mm LOL.
Mechanical Pencil Leads:
One of the OG artists I watch said that never buy cheap mechanical pencil lead, and I hope I listened to her a long time ago LOL. I have all the mechanical pencil leads for all my pencils in sizes, and some of them I inherited from my brother. I still don't use all of it LOL. Pentel is my go-to mechanical pencil lead. They're strong and smudge-proof when drawing using it.
Charcoal Pencils:
This charcoal given by my uncle who is artist I remembered he use to ask me what medium I really wanted to try and I said charcoal and oil and he gave me some of his art materials and the first time I use the oils he gave me I almost pass out after using it I never know that using oil in close area is not advisable so I get scared using it but this year I finally give it a second chance and I really like it but the smell is really not for me LOL. I really use charcoal for hair and shadows.
The darkest charcoal is from my brother, yes, I inherited it again LOL.
Erasers:
For the eraser, I have a pretty good amount of it because I love a good eraser for my portrait, LOL.
A kneadable eraser for my watercolor, and this retractable eraser for erasing details.
I really love my Faber-Castell erasers, they really do erase well, and I just bought the Sakura one that is really good and the price is really good too LOL, but worth the money.
Sharpeners:
For the sharpeners, my first sharpener is this Faber-Castell, actually, this is not usable now because it cannot sharpen my pencil, so that is why I have a lot of them LOL. I am not a fan of using an X-Acto knife to sharpen my pencil, too lazy to do that.
This one is from my colored pencil, I just use it for my pencil because it is sharp.
Where I Store My Medium:
I don't like dust on my pencil, so I like to keep them in a storage where they can be protected from dust and dirt, but I used to place them out for easy access. I really hate clutter in my room.
All My Mediums:
Do you regret some of the art materials you bought? Me, yes, so I suggest you think twice first LOL.
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
