Patchwork Prairies

sheenadone.jpgsheenadone2.jpg

This commission piece I did for a dear friend for her sisters new little one. The piece is suppose to be the time of year here in the prairies when baby was born. A family wrapped in a snowy blanket of the prairies patchwork with our beautiful colourful vast sky above them. I wanted it to depict that feeling of being all cuddled up with your loved ones on those first nights when the snow falls. It’s a feeling of home to me. The quilt has wheat, oats, wild oats and barley in it, my Dad picked it for me years ago for a piece exactly like this. ❤️
