Dodo

This piece is one I created of my little girl and my childhood cat that was born on my birthday all snuggled up dreaming away together. Here are some progress shots of it coming to life. I always love to take photos of each step along the way to watch it grow and change and form into what it once will be. At moments I become so transfixed into the painting that I dont actually really remember what it is that Im doing its just a meditation and when I come back to reality and stop I look and see such huge changes at work and movements. I am so so very grateful for my gift of being able to create and paint, and fully appreciate the process as I just read today as a artist who is a mother art can be like an Oxygen mask that we need to place on here and there to keep ourself alive and thriving. I feel that full force.
